IGNEOUS ROCKS !!
Igneous Rocks- Igneous rocks are formed from the cooling and solidification of magma. Whether crystallization occurs depends on the temperature when the magma is cooling. There are 2 types of igneous rocks; intrusive and extrusive. Intrusive igneous rocks can be identified by having larger crystals and extrusive igneous rocks can be identified by having smaller crystals.
Extrusive rocks are...
- formed outside of the earths crust.
- formed from the cooling and solidification of magma above ground.
- have smaller crystals.
- types are basalt and obsidian

Intrusive rocks are...
- formed inside the earths crust.
- formed from the cooling and solidification of magma below earths crust.
- have larger crystals because of cooler temperatures
- types are gabbbro and granite.
